Happy Halloween!

I had the idea of digging through my archives to explore some color palates for collages. This one is orange tones from various rolls of film, shot every year since 2005. Most of the images were shot in Baja, some of them right here in my own back yard of North County San Diego
.
I am a photographer, not a graphic designer, so hopefully as I progress they will get better looking.
:)

Have a spooky weekend!

Searching for Michael Peterson

Our friends at Shelter hosted the 'Searching for Michael Peterson' movie the other weekend. I thought the movie was really good; overall, thought provoking and depicted a really sad story. I suggest you see it if you get a chance.

Here is Jolyon Hoff [right], Beau Young [middle] and their friend..finally, at the last CA premier on their whirlwind movie tour.

Seth Petterson and his drummer started off the evening....
these guys were amazing!

Beau Young also lent some ear candy to the eclectic crowd...

Just like at every event at Shelter, there was a lot to see and enjoy.
In between long beach locals and Australian characters, there was this sweet ride out front...

and really sweet cupcakes that we enjoyed out back

Thank you to Graham and Kim for another fun evening!

*I do not have a photos, but Lolas served up some bomb carne asada tacos!
**Sorry for the delay on this post, I have been distracted by wedding-brain and other photo projects.

Surfboards. A Sacred Craft indeed.

Shame on me, I didn't cover the event like I did last year. Instead, Rob and I took our Mothers, from NC and WI, to get a good taste of our lifestyle out here in California. I took a few snapshots here and there with my little point and shoot, but I feel like I got a few dirty looks even...
"Is that Maggie?..where is her camera?!"

It's always fun to try to count the legends in attendance, and as usual, it was great to see our local hand-crafting crew Mandala, Moonlight, Hanel, Cherry....
I really did enjoy myself as a gawker this year but I do plan on spending a little more time covering it next year :)

Master Mr. Dick Brewer!

Ah, just barely home from a stubbie-wonderful trip to Japan..my friend
